Final Week :(

I'm honestly sad that field experience is going to be over. I have learned so much from my cooperating teacher. She has shown how to be a good and creative teacher. I love how she integrates social studies into her whole curriculum. She is also a very passionate teacher a and she gave me great insights on what grade I should because she was willing to pay attention and listen at times I didn't think she was listening.
This week has been a very busy week. On Monday Courtney and I taught our last lesson which was our technology lesson. Tuesday we had a field trip to a space center in Pleasant Grove. Wednesday we were observed for our last time and we also had art at the end of the day and the kids were so much fun. Today (Thursday) we had a lady from Discovery Gateway come and teach the kids about chemical reactions and physical changes. Then we did experiments with different chemicals.
Funny side note that made me laugh and realize times have change is one of the students was writing on his lab write up about baking soda and abbreviated BS and and then another student pointed at him said HAHAHA YOU WROTE BS :) Then that student asked be what BS meant I said it meant Baking Soda I made him mad but then I ended up just saying I couldn't tell and it wasn't appropriate but I just laughed afterwards by myself thinking that I would have never thought that in 5th grade but oh well I need to stay on my toes if I'm going to be a teacher.
I'm going to miss the students so bad and I'm so excited to be a teacher.

Sounds like it was a good week. I have to agree students thinking has changed. I guess it is due to all the media. But they are still sweet. Having those projects to do help students learn better. I'm glad to read the teacher incorporates social studies all day.
Have a good Thanksgiving.
